Have Clickshare manage your online subscription starts and renewals.
* If you wish to have online-only subscription starts in your circulation database, you will need to purchase either the file-transfer-based or real-time Clickshare circulation integration
For example:
- 1 ePaper provider (Olive, Tecnavia, Virtual Paper, etc)
- 1 website management system (Wordpress, Apache, Newscycle, etc)
- 1 email management system (MailChimp, Exact Target, etc)
- 1 social media authentication integration (Facebook Connect, Gigya, etc)
- 1 reader commenting system (Disqus, Pluck, etc)
This module allows you to query and submit updates to Clickshare's database.
This module includes setup and licensing of Clickshare software to allow the Client's or other third-party systems to integrate with Clickshare using Clickshare's server-to-server integration API. The API includes interfaces to query accounts, perform authentication, add subscriptions, and make other changes to accounts.
Allow customers to link to your circulation database, manage their delivery service, and support print subscription capture resulting in batch files containing new starts that include print subscriptions.
Allow customers to link to your circulation database, manage their delivery service, and support print subscription capture that inserts new starts into your circulation database in real-time.
With our Real-Time Payment Service, the system performs the credit card purchase authorization as soon as the customer requests a purchase. This feature guarantees that the purchase is approved before the purchase is recorded (subscription renewals, of course, are not guaranteed). Features such as pay-per-view document purchase and classified purchases can benefit from Real-Time Payment since the purchase is completed before the system delivers the document or the service is rendered.
Also with this service, each time a customer enters a credit card we issue a $1 authentication-only transaction to verify the validity of the credit card number. This allows us to immediately reject information for unusable accounts. Although this does not guarantee that the ultimate authorization for a purchase will be approved, it does detect account numbers that are syntactically correct but do not represent active accounts.
Both Real-Time Services route authorizations through the financial network via secure TCP/IP using your merchant bank account. The system performs settlement of all charge authorizations nightly, reducing the time before the funds appear in your bank account. The Account Manager also interfaces with the Real-Time Payment service allowing your finance department to initiate immediate credits, rather than posting credits to be processed during the next batch. There is no additional cost for this service.

Clickshare can send emails to customers whose subscriptions are about to expire and/or have expired reminding them to renew. The typical set-up includes one email a few weeks before expiration, one at the time of expiration, and one after the expiration has passed. These emails can be sent as text or text plus HTML, and can be customized for each registrant (e.g., to include their name and account number). Clickshare does not provide statistics on number of emails delivered, opened, clicked through, etc. However, we do allow customers to easily opt-out of the emails. This service has no additional charge.
Clickshare can periodically send automated emails to a group of registered customers. Clients often use this service to send a daily morning notification to customers informing them that the electronic edition is available. These emails can be sent as text or text plus HTML and can be customized for each registrant (e.g., to include their name and account number). Often the email references an image on your server with current front page. Clickshare does not provide statistics on number of emails delivered, opened, clicked through, etc. However, we do allow customers to easily opt-out of the emails. This service is charged as a monthly fee per distinct email group. Sending one email to regular customers and another email to NIE accounts would be charged as two emails.
This optional module allows patrons at libraries, university students, customers at coffee shops or employees of companies to gain free access to your content with a simple username and password account. This feature allows IP-based free access while still requiring registration.
The login page and welcome emails can be customized for each institution. Once a customer creates an account, they can use that account for free access when in the IP range, and will be asked to subscribe when outside the range.
An alternative configuration can grant free access from anywhere for accounts initially created from within an IP range. This alternative configuration can be used to grant home access to employees of institutions.
Email-based access (e.g., free access to anyone with a particular institution's email address) can be added to this module for a one-time hourly set-up fee for each institution. With email-based access, customers are asked to click on a link in an email we send to activate their account. Email-based access is often used to grant access to members of educational institutions.
- Your organization can sell this service to the library, university, coffee shop, local company, etc. for a set fee or by number of logins for a negotiated time frame.
- This module enables your organization to promote to the readers accessing the fee content within the IP address the potential of subscribing to the print or digital publication.
This feature provides both a customer and an administrative interface that permits customers to purchase physical goods using a "shopping cart" model. The administrative interface allows staff to describe items for sale, review orders, and manage tasks such as printing packing slips and shipping items. A separate document describes the Shopping Cart Manager in more detail. Customization will be billed at our standard rate.
This optional module provides both a customer and an administrative interface that permits customers to purchase tickets to both physical and web-based events.
The administrative interface allows staff to define events and various ticket pricing plans, monitor sales, generate reports, and open and close sales to an event. Pricing plans support discount sales, group sales (e.g., table for 10), and multi-ticket plans (e.g., buy one and get one at half-price). The system permits the placing of event-specific text and images on the purchase pages, capacity limiting tickets, and the collection of attendee and contact information for situations where the customer is purchasing more than one ticket or is purchasing tickets for someone else.
Administrators can use this feature to generate reports for creating badges and attendee lists in advance of the event. Customization will be billed at our standard rate.
This feature provides a customizable interface to allow customers to enter nominations for awards programs.
This module, which can be integrated with any third-party circulation system, provides an interface where both vendor and publication can track and manage draw, returns, and all payments and credits of print editions.
Depending on how the client's circulation system is configured, Clickshare can also add the ability for vendors to pay their bills via the interface. This can either be configured for real-time charging or batch processing. If real-time charging is enabled, the module can perform a real-time check to make sure that the customer's credit card is valid.
